: Summit of bikes?

I don't know if this is the right forum for this... I guess it relates to performance...

I'm just starting to get into motorcycles. I just fixed the electrical on my co-workers and now a buddy of mine is giving me his old, non-functional bike.

Are there any online parts stores (like summit) that would supply parts for bikes? Maybe a mail order catalog from somewhere?

If it matters, these aren't crotch rockets... I don't know much about bikes, but these were harley-looking bikes... The one I fixed was a 1982 honda, and the one I'm getting is an 80s yamaha.

Thanks

There's a company called Custom Chrome that has a pretty wide selection...might want to check them out.

J.C. Whitney is one that supplies alot of parts and chrome accessories for older bikes.

Dennis Kirk is another one that offers aftermarket items like brake pads, cables, filters, oil, grips, tires, etc

As far as Genuine Honda or Yamaha stuff,(like gas tanks, side covers, internal engine/trans parts), if you look in the back of the streetbike mags there are several dealers offering lower than MSRP pricing on their parts.

Lastly, there are several on-line salvage yards now that can offer a good replacement for a broken part that has become "discontinued" from the manufacturer.
