Looking to purchase a few tools to be able to assemble & disassemble heads here at home. Tools include a heavy duty spring compressor and a valve spring height mic.

I also see that there's now a lower cost spring pressure tester which I believe is made by Proform tools. It's about $215.

They offer two models with one measuring to 300 lbs and the other to 700 lbs.

The roller springs I'll be switching to will likely have 225-250 on the seat and between 550-650 open pressure.

Do I need to check open pressure meaning the 700 lb tester is needed, or am I mainly concerned about setting the seat pressures all the same meaning I should use the 300 lb model?

If I'm only concered about seat pressure in setting up the springs, I would think the 700 lb model might not have enough graduations to accurately set seat pressures as there on the mid/low side of it's reading scale on the gauge?

I know this tool isn't a Rimac, but for the very limited use it will see, I would think it would suffice for a home race shop.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check em' at the installed height . My opinion ,use a cheapo Moroso deal, the type you hook on the rocker and pull, on the head after you install em'......but, buy the one with the 700lb scale and use it to check them at the open height. You can also use the good gage to calibrate the cheap one,in the case of a Remac anyway....calibrate the two tools using installed height, adjusting the cheap one to read what the good one does if you like
