Looking at a Muncie 4 speed, M-21 according to seller, that includes shifter (2 actually), 621 bellhousing, clutch pressure plate, all linkage from the pedal assembly to bellhousing w/frame mount, cross shaft, etc. for $750 dollars. However, the linkage and pedal assembly are for a 1st gen. camaro. I already have everything for my 69 but the shifter and my trans, M-20, needs overhaul. Seller says the trans he has shifted good and was in a 68 Camaro.
My question is, would it be reasonable to expect to buy the complete package and sell off everything but the trans and shifter and have less than $300 tied up? I am assuming the trans is in good shape and I will be able to use it at least for a short timeas is. My trans has a stripped thread at the input and definitely needs new sliders, synchros, bearings, and shift forks. The idea is to sell off the linkage and pedals to minimize my cost but also keep a spare Muncie on hand for future projects.
