How much should I be looking to spend for a 64 or 65 Malibu 2 door wagon in fair to rough condition? I am looking for a project that can sit on the back burner for a few years.

Thanks for your time and effort.

I don't think there were any "Malibu" 2-door wagons built... I think they were all 300/300 Deluxe cars...

Anyway, depends on how complete you are looking for, and how "solid"... Willing to travel?

I have seen "projects" (rough condition) for $1000-$2500. Not complete cars, and they were needing lots of work but restorable. I think most "2-door wagon" specific parts were generally included (or available, like glass). But I haven't really seen much the last few months (haven't been looking much though).

Fair condition, I have seen stuff in the $6000+ range...

Anyone else have an opinion?

Tony, you are right it is a plane jane, no Malibu.

Anyone on the South East (Georgia, Florida, South or North Carolina) know where one that is for sale in this condition?

May be your lucky day? I have just recently decided to get rid of my two door wagon projects and move on to other projects. PM me if interested.

Two doos wagons are very rare. If not mistaken less the 650 were built. Here is one in the junk yard that I pulled some parts out of it. It still there as of this past Saturday.

There were roughly 4000 built over '64 and '65. About 2500 in '64 and about 1500 in '65. Not a real common body style.
