: wow i'm fried...
RAMBO Jul 16th, 08, 7:21 AM Nightshift with the kiddo... only had about 4 hours of sleep yesterday. Grandma is now staying with us, so i was able to sleep this whole evening- up now since midnight till around 8 or 9am tomorrow so the wife can finnaly sleep (even ON all the pain meds, we practically have tie her to the bed to stop and relax and go to sleep)
Sammys doing good- sleeping while I'm watching Gone in 60 seconds... Down Periscope & Support your local gunfighter were on earlier... :-)
Having a kid really does give you a whole new perspective on life...
Frank-I have to take my hat off to you with all those kids you've got!
Brian, and Brett- Take it from a guy sleep deprived walking around like a zombie with a crying infant at 2am... Keep that thing wrapped up until you are really really ready- because even when you ARE ready- its hard as hell!
Thats my little update! Talk to yall later.
66SSFan Jul 16th, 08, 8:44 AM The begining is the hardest part, just hang in there. For the next few months all they do eat, sleep and crap:D I know Addison slept better when we started wraping her up tightly in a small blanket, might be worth a try.
BrentsChevelle Jul 16th, 08, 8:54 AM Yep, swaddling worked pretty good (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swaddling) for my son, although the first week he was home he slept no more than 2 hours at a time.
Hang in there, Ben, it'll get easier.

I don't know about that :) I have two teenagers and it seems to be MUCH harder now than when they were little.

twotone64 Jul 16th, 08, 11:06 AM Agreed, once you get into a rhythm it makes things so much easier. Im going on th end of 4 months with my little one. He is in his swing napping this morning next to me, as the wife gets to sleep in. At week 6 he started sleeping in his crib in his own room. At week 8 he started sleeping through the night with few wakings. the long naps during the day give you some time as well, specially when all the help has gone back to their lives, leaving him to you and your wife.
The first couple of weeks we had one of those baby sleepers in our bed with us that keept him isolated and his head a little elevated, he just would not sleep in his crradle even in our room next to mommy.
Mom gets a little frustrated now cause when he is eating, and I come home, or come in from working outside, he just wants to stare at me and pays a lot more attention... I guess he knows there is a Chevelle waiting for him some day.
Congratulations and get some sleep when you can sneak it in.
Rod

Watch out for those older women... the closer to 30 they get the more they hear that clock ticking!!! ;)
Wife & grandma got up at 8- and i went to bed- awake again now and feeling pretty decent. Already freaking out about going back to work next week leaving the wife at home... guess we'll deal with that when we get there.

ehjorten Jul 16th, 08, 3:48 PM Yeah...I remember those first couple of weeks! The sad thing is that I get to do it all over again in February. I remember the late nights with the crying baby and wondering..."Is this what it is going to be like?! I don't know if I can handle this!" It will get easier.
kippari Jul 16th, 08, 4:27 PM ...walking around like a zombie with a crying infant at 2am... .
When ours first was newborn, i was thinking a way to easy up the walking part in our little apartment.. so i invented swing again, with remote control leading to sofa. ;)
