: BB Power Steering bracket mounting

I'm about ready to finally drop my BB into my 67, but was test fitting some of the brackets, and ran into a slight road block on my PS pump. I have the setup with short WP, and PS pump with remote reservoir. I have the big main bracket mounted, to where it looks like it's the only place it will mount, but when I mount the pump, it doesn't seem right. Also, the way I have the pump, I can't see where the smaller 'adjustment' bracket will mount, and I can't see any other way the pump will fit into the bracket. Please don't tell me these are the wrong parts. I spent well over $200 on them

If anyone has photos of these parts, it would be very helpful

Adjustment bracket that I have no idea where it goes!

I think the pump should be UP under the alternator, not down
I also think that bracket goes on the front exhaust manifold bolt.

Been a few years since I put one on my son's 67.

Thanks Dean,
I just had it hanging down under, because in the AIM (UPC 6 A6 - Belt Routing) it has the power steering pump pretty much parallel with the crank pulley.

I think you are correct though. I went out to the garage and flipped it above the bracket, and everything looked much better, and the adjustment bracket dropped right into place also, just as you said. Somethimes I think I have to many dead brain cells :clonk:

Now I just need to clean up that pump and paint it. I'm afraid to media blast it though, so I'll just try good ol' elbow grease

i cleaned up my pump with some easy-off oven cleaner, sanded and painted, looks great -first time i tried cleaning with that stuff it took it down almost to bare metal all over -learned that on TC!

You may also need to make about a 1" spacer/washer to push the top PS adjustment bracket off the header (this will make it fit closer to the stock location which was off of thicker exhaust manifolds)...but if it all fits without the spacer great, but i needed one on mine...

Here are pics. The adjuster goes to the first manifold bolt or header. You have to use a stud (ACE). Thread it into the block, nut on the flange, then a spacer for the adjustment bracket. Then you bolt it all down.

I did like Gene McGill did on his 68. Used an old socket as a spacer:
