Well, after replacing 2 bad water pumps, my final installation ended up with a leaking lower radiator hose.

We all know this is a common problem due to the fact that the reproduction tower clamps stink.

I usually bond them with Copper RTV so they seal....

Well, this connection didn't hold.

I had no more tower clamps, I have a show coming up this weekend and didn't want to spend $30 overnighting a $3 clamp.

I also just couldn't bear the thought of draining my coolant again.....

So...... I loostened the tower clamp and cut it off.

Bought a new sytle clamp and unscrewed it completely so I didn't have to remove the hose, then attached.

I cut a small portion out of the old tower clamp to allow it to fit around the screw fitting of the new clamp and Rubber Cemented it to the new clamp.

The only way to see it is crawl under the car and stick your head up in under the water pump.

If your ever in a bind with a leaking tower clamp, this is a quick fix you can do without even draining your coolant to get you by without having to use a mis-matched clamp.

It worked pretty slick and was a whole lot easier that the alternative.

It just worked so slick I thought I'd throw it out there just in case anybody got caught in a pinch before a show.

Good idea John, only a Kentucky boy would have thought of that one:D
Knowing you I bet you already ordered a new set of tower clamps.
