michelle51771 Jul 15th, 08, 10:23 AM wasnt sure where to post this, hope this section is ok
we are restoring a 1969 chevelle SS for my daughter and she wants something cool across the windshield
any suggestions?
shes only 17 so nothing vulgar please.........
1badss396 Jul 15th, 08, 10:32 AM Sorry I personaly dont like the windshield saying stuff. Kinda reminds me of a redneck truck.
f14tomcat Jul 15th, 08, 3:37 PM :noway:A restored 69 SS for a 17 year old girl, My My My, please keep her off the cell phone while driving and PLEASE do not put a "Winshield Saying " on the Chevelle:sad:
But that is just my opinion.
Stalkingbear Jul 15th, 08, 3:50 PM You mean, like, she actually WANTS something across the window?
How about, "Just say no to B.O."
will02 Jul 15th, 08, 3:54 PM Michelle-Restoring a 69 SS for your daughter-Will you please adopt me? I may be 50 years old, but I can be extremely immature from time to time!:) I think it is a great thing you are doing, we need more motor heads in the next few generations. No ideas though, I'm not very creative, good luck!
ssal396 Jul 15th, 08, 4:12 PM You would probably get a better response to this in Bench Racing..
michelle51771 Jul 15th, 08, 4:46 PM actually shes a very responsible 17 year old
thank you

Only if it is in the drivers line of vision.:)
70 beater Jul 15th, 08, 6:32 PM "Hang up and drive" in reverse so it can be read in the rear view mirror of the car ahead.

JAKE FOSTER Jul 15th, 08, 7:29 PM I am not a big fan of sayings on windshields but I did alway think MOVE OVER written backwards was kinda funny
MEJ1990TM Jul 15th, 08, 7:43 PM To avoid the talking on cell phone problem make it a 4 speed. :D
More fun and much more difficult to talk.
As to the topic. I am not overly fond of letters on the windshield but the move over picture was pretty funny.
68bye Jul 15th, 08, 9:11 PM How about in small print, so it's just above the rear veiw mirror and maybe a few inches on either side. "Rice, it's what's for dinner" :)

Rowdy Jul 16th, 08, 12:44 AM I like "MOVE OVER", "MOVE IT" would have similar effect. "LOOK OUT" with Moonie Eye O's.
Something I saw on a back window that cracked me up, while driving with my then 13 year old daughter (16 this October), "If you must ride my a$$, at least pull my hair". I don't think she got it back then.
chevelledude71 Jul 16th, 08, 12:50 AM That car is too CLASSY to put something TRASHY across the windshield.
But, it's her car and she can do with it what she pleases. If she must, I would put something that lets others know that it's her car and it's a '69 Chevelle.
HER NAME 1969 CHEVELLE
dreis454 Jul 16th, 08, 5:55 AM how about FOR SALE & then buy her a Honda civic.

DZAUTO Jul 16th, 08, 8:26 AM I ABSOLUTELY have never understood the stupidity of something pasted across the windshield, such as HONDA on a Honda, MUSTANG on a Mustang, or oriental scribling on any car here in America.
But then, there is a LOT of things I do not, and never will, understand. Like selling Bud to a foreign country, Mexican built Chevys, Airbus built tankers for the USAF!!!! GDit America, WAKE THE HECK UP!!!!!!!!!

ss3964spd Jul 16th, 08, 9:49 AM Frankly Michelle, since there will be a 17 year old young woman driving a '69 Chevelle, that's already more attention than I'd want my daughter getting while driving. Making her even more noticable, and memorable, would just scare me.
I even nixed the idea of personal plates on my daughters car. Too many nuts out there.
"Built not Bought" will have a double meaning when a female is behind the wheel. Think about it.
Dan
chevelless502 Jul 16th, 08, 10:15 AM I had a "redneck" truck that had "Get In Set Down Shut Up and Hang On" on it in small white letters. I got alot of compliments on it and it didnt take away from the rest of the truck.
I do like SHEVELLE alot though...very fitting for a 17 year old girl.

67chevygary Jul 16th, 08, 1:25 PM for the side or license surround --Yes it's fast-No you can't drive it--
DZAUTO Jul 16th, 08, 3:24 PM You forgot BODY PIERCINGS and Chevelle videos with loud music backgrounds Tom.
Nah, I was just being specific about this issue. I gotta cut somebody some slack once in a while.
OK, that was it for this year! :D
66SSFan Jul 16th, 08, 3:56 PM How about "Team Chevelle" or "Not my dads SS"
ehjorten Jul 16th, 08, 4:03 PM How about you don't put anything on and if she really wants to put a saying on the windshield, she does it?
Randy Mosier Jul 16th, 08, 4:32 PM Silly Boy, Chevelles Are For Girls!
Jerry Briggs Jul 16th, 08, 5:05 PM Silly Boy, Chevelles Are For Girls!
That's the best one I've heard in a long time!
davoaz Jul 16th, 08, 5:34 PM I dont envy you. Every Tom Dick and Harry is going to try and date her so they can drive her car.
I don't like stickers on my cars. DD or the Velle. But I did find a bumper sticker once that I thought was hilarious. I liked it so much I bought it and stuck in on my freinds car. Took him a week to find it. It said, Move over Drunk, I'm Dick :D

thunderstruck507 Jul 16th, 08, 11:28 PM I wanted a "Chevelle SS" banner on mine when I was 16, but I quickly grew out of the that kinda stuff
Nothing is better, but on the bright side its easy to remove anyway..
chevelledude71 Jul 17th, 08, 12:03 AM i dont want trashy i was going for something to related to it being a chevelle SS

Like I said, nothing trashy should go on that classy car. I'm sorry if you thought I was meaning putting something trashy on it.
That's why I said, " HER NAME 1969 CHEVELLE"
chevelledude71 Jul 17th, 08, 12:06 AM Silly Boy, Chevelles Are For Girls!
If that's the case, a whole lot of us have cars to give away.

Chris R Jul 17th, 08, 11:31 AM With the way things are now days. Im not sure drawing too much attention to a 17 year old girl is a good idea. Is this a "fun" car for her or her daily driver. Does she have a regular car to drive around when the weather isnt so nice.
If its just a fun car for her. I say do whatever you like. Your out with the car to be noticed when you take it out.

dscabra Jul 17th, 08, 8:40 PM I had this decal made for my back glass on my El Camino from eDecals.com (http://www.edecals.com/), and I also use it in my signature.

I get a lot of chuckles from the Mopar crowd.
