It depends on what is wrong with the chrome.

You can try a number of things to make it look better.

Start with the least agressive and continue if you need to.

First, try a good quality cleaning wax, like you wax a car with old dull paint. Start in one area that is easy to reach and see, apply wax and scrub hard.

If you are not satisfied with the result use chrome polish.

Some people have had good results with 00 steel wool and soapy water.

Green scrubbies and soap work well followed by mothers for chrome.

You can try some of this stuff. We use it on highly polished molds for the injection molding industry and it is good stuff. A little pricey but a little goes a long way. http://www.flitz.com/

Get a can of Never Dull wadding and Blue Magic Cream. They are the best polishes you can get at retail stores!

I used it on my bumper and it shined up the pitting in the chrome so well, it's a lot less noticeable!
