Lotta rust, lotta work, lotta money to be invested. Nice color combo, though!

Bids above 8K - Just because it's supposed to be SS

Seems unreal to me that people are so stupid, then wonder why they get upside down.

Sure it's a highly saught after car, but gimme a break.

Looks like somebody stuck a vinyl top on it and the end result is obvious (serious rust).

Way beyond my skill set. I don't know if you could bring that one back and not loose your shorts.

A #'s Red on Red 454 might be worth it, but with a 396 column shift car, you'd be upside down before you were done with the body.

Looks like the bidder with 0 feedback has run this one up quite a bit, no wonder next bid wins it!!!

Too bad he didn't show a pic of the engine pad with the codes.

Way over priced bucket of rust. If the parts you can see have that much rust, how bad is the rest of it? It looks like a good shot and it will crumble!

I am thinking about $4K for that car...maybe 5K
It isn't worth the current bid

Whats funny is that the car originated a few miles from where I live and I have never heard of this car. Nor any of my friends that are in the Chevelle / Car world. I do know the dealer and most of the Chevelles in this area came from Texas. I would probably give 8K if it had a build sheet and I was keeping it for myself.

Gwizit how many original body paneled w/ss396 on fenders, w/original ss dash and interior, w/original bb w/vin, w/original CF th400 w/vin, and original 12bolt rears w/correct date to match build date of car malibus have you seen? I'd think I'd throw out the SUPPOSED to be an ss comment.

No doubt it is an original survivor albeit a very rough survivor that'll take a ton of money to restore.
In my opinion it's already bid up a lot higher than what it's actually worth for a 402 - automatic car at today's prices but those ebay buyers seem to always do that.
(Maybe if it was a LS-6 4 speed, it might be worth 8 K in that condition)

Why didn't you include a picture of the engine stamping Mr Nichols?

That will sure cost some coin to bring back that's for sure:yes: I would have a hard time paying over 8K for that car, but then again I payed 10K for my 69 convertible but it was no where near as rusty as that car:noway:

I don't know much about 70s, only 71/72s....did this car have a vinyl top out of the factory b/c there's a lot of rust on the roof sections and pillars...I agree 8k is heavy, i would probably max out at 6k.

To Dean: I'm gonna throw out the whole LS6 car in this condition for 8k comment. Thats not even close to being in line. I'll give 8k for as many dated complete LS6 motors w/vin as you can find me.

EDIT by MOD: Let's not get into a pissing match here please. This is not what this place is for. If there is no agreement on the value of a car, please just learn to agree to disagree.
