What are your guy's thoughts about the Dart Aluminum Pro 1 heads? Anyone had any experience with them? We put them on a car, but they were hand ported before we put them on, so I was wondering how people like them right out of the box, and if anyone bought them put together already? How about the CNC?
Thanks,

A friend of mine works at Dart and builds motors for IHRA. He built a 355 for me and installed Dart Pro 1's with 64cc chambers and 2.05 intake valves. He didn't port them. They are cast very well. I am very happy with me motor!!!!

I've got a set on a 422sbc. They replaced a set of TFS twisted wedge heads. I took the car out for the 1st time with the new heads this past Friday night. With a lot of traction issues the car managed to run 10.58@127.2. My previous best with the old heads was 10.58@125.5 this past January. After you factor in the weather difference the new set-up is up about 70hp over the old set. This is not all from the heads though, I also swapped in a new cam and 1.6 shaft rockers and a fully ported Super Vic replaced a port matched and plenum cleaned-up Super Vic. With more tuning on the suspension and motor I'm pretty confident the car will run 10.40's@128 in the heat and 20's@130 in cold air.

as far as quality goes, i would say they have a pretty good reputation. i have the Pro 1 215's on my 406 and i'm pretty happy with them. i know of several others that run Pro 1's on just about everything from big and small chevys to small block Fords, and most are happy with them. keep in mind that there are always going to be bad castings sold, and no manufaturer out there has yet to send bad ones out the door, just that some do it less than others, and i consider Dart to be one of the better ones.

I've got the 325cc Pro I, straight out of the box, on my 540 and very satisfied so far.
