Have any of you used a small strip of wood (like the thickness of a paint stirring stick) to wet wet sand with instead of a rubber block?
I was told that sometimes a rubber block can pull off too much material.
Thanks

I use a wooden paint stick all the time. Not that it's better than a rubber block but it is longer than my rubber block. You don't have to tear your paper to fit it, it bends around gentle curves, and it's free! I don't use the thinner paint sticks but the one that are at least 1/8" thick and I sand the sharp edges off them. Pick a straight one too and then stash it with the rest of your body tools. I don't see how one or the other would take off to much material. It's how much pressure and the grit off paper that determines how much cut you will get.
