So I bought a B&M tranny cooler which has an electric fan integrated to the housing. Also has a themal switch which turnes the fan on/off at specified temperatures.

I wired the power lead into the switch, second lead from the switch into the fan power, and grouinded the second lead out of the fan. My understanding is that the switch is normally open, when the temperature is reached, the switch closes completing the circuit?

I am getting far past the temperature at which the switch should activate but the fan is not coming on. Have I wired it correctly? There is power to the termionals at the switch.

Is the switch rated for the current that the fan draws? You might want to install a relay to power the fan and control the relay with the thermo switch.

I have no idea? Maybe I will try that first.....

Thanks...I will advise how it works out.

i would like a pic on how you hooked your cooler fan up wickster. i have the same cooler on the el camino, but we hooked the fan up to the thermo switch which i think is wrong.

Is the fan/switch working now as-wired?
