3885 lbs with 15 gal of gas, factory AC, 454 (iron heads) and a Tremec. This was without driver.

I think she needs a diet! It was about what I was expecting though...hows that compare to the rest of you?

Wow thats crazy. My Nova wieghs just under 3,000 all steel with a full tank and me standing out side of it. So it's like your driving around with a spare fully assymbled iron BBC in your trunk, cept its not just in your trunk but spread through out the entire car:) I have alot of respect for you taking a car that heavy and still blowing my doors off :D

3860lbs w/o me in the car, 56/44 distribution, 1970SS, all steel, stereo, full interior, spare tire & jack, fire extinguisher, no tools or any junk, PS, PB, no AC, TH400 w/ GV OD, and 1/3 tank of gas. (alum heads)
I race with a 1/2 tank of gas now, so that puts me at like a 4020-4050 race weight, its 4020 with a 1/3 tank +me, things could be worse, the car has a bean pole driving it..
So yeah.. I was expecting about 3850 on the scale, so 3860 wasn't a surprise, nor was the weight distribution.

73 Chevelle 1/8 tank of gas , no a.c. , small block , no interior (ex. driver seat), no spare or jack w/o me in it #3800. Soon to be big block w/ a.c. and interior , I dont even want to guess what it'll weigh  .

Hey Philomath, OR,
I'm guessing that your Nova has a Schmall block?
I have weighed my BBC 69 Nova....glass hood....lexan windows.....fglass bumpers and pretty much stripped interior with a 12 pt cage at Mr. Jim Livingstons (Woodburn Dragstrip) fancy NHRA legal scale and came up with 3500 with me in it. So 3300 W/O me in it.....and we know Rats weigh approx 200 more than SBC....and I have alum heads.
So where did you weigh your car?????

You can go here and look up weight of car and add on for options.
I think it comes out pretty close.
I've found factory curb weights to be pretty close.
Happily 64's don't weigh near that much! smile.gif

I weighed my '71 Monte Carlo yesterday and was shocked at it's weight. 4150 without me in it.

I'm envious of all you light weights ;)

Any idea how much a 65 Postie would weight with a small block? I couldn't find the weight listings on that web-site.

My 70 weighed in at 4080 lbs with me in it, a full tank of gas, the spare tire, and my detail bag in the trunk. Take off 170 for me, 30 for the tire and 15 for my bag and there is 215 making it 3865 with a full tank of gas in it.

My car weighed in last year at 3600 pounds with a full tank of gas (26.5 gallons, it's a rock valley tank), A/C, stereo box and 2 amps in the trunk, and lots of sound insulation. No spare tire. I was not in it, but since I'm only 150 I don't make much of a difference. graemlins/clonk.gif

I checked the weight both on a truck scale and on a 4-pad chassis setup scale system. 4-pad read 3600, the truck scale read 3620 (20# resolution on the truck scale.)

I would love to lighten the car up some, but I really don't want to give up my A/C, stereo or quiet interior. I can probably save 10 lbs though when I paint the car and get rid of the 2 bondo-loaded front fenders. tongue.gif

Happily 64's don't weigh near that much! smile.gif Wow that came out very close actually with all the numbers from that site! It actually added up to be more using the wieght from the site, but only by about 10lbs....I'm sure theres some leway with the numbers.

I knew that the AC added alot of weight...but not 93lbs!!

About 5 months ago i weighed my 68 in at 3260 with a small block, 1/4 tank, 14 alum wheels, 1-1/4" front sway bar, full interior, 10 bolt, stock rear suspension, 35 pound box of tools.

No one beleived me that it could be that light. Well about 1 week ago I weighted it again after having put a lift off 4 inch glass hood on it, with a full tank too came out to 3200 flat at a different scale. I had my doupts about the weight at first, but not anymore. with out tools and a little less gas it should be low 3100's.

oh ya its 1780 front and 1420 rear. graemlins/beers.gif
