: What did you do for the 4th?
webfoot Jul 8th, 08, 3:15 AM I went up to go camping with a good buddy of mine. His family still has property up by Kalispell, Montana that his g-g-great grandparents homesteaded on in 1907. What beautiful country. There is a house there but it is derelict and the roof is almost ready to cave in. For some reason only the outbuildings were given metal roofs.
I was feeling kinda artsy fartsy when I took this pic.

One day we went to Bowman lake in glacier NP. I hadn't been to that one and it is just as spectacular as the rest of them.

We got to watch some of the "neighbors" light off big fireworks on the 4th. I don't think anything is illegal in Montana! (fireworks, pervs) They had stands set up everywhere but I didn't smuggle any back.
17Again Jul 8th, 08, 3:28 AM BLOCK PARTY!!
Every 4th of July all the neighbors and I head up to Vancouver to purchase our arsenal. At around 4pm we pull out the BBQ's and coolers, cone off the street to slow any drivers coming in to fast. The kids run amok (must have been 20+ this year). As the sun sets we light off the ground effects, then commence to sending close to $500 worth of rockets, cannons, and mortars up.
We used to head out to see the professional displays, but its more fun to drink, socialize and light off our own show. Before anyone talks of the dangers, we are careful, we don't over indulge our beverages, and with no to little wind there aren't any houses in danger.

66 Buick Special Jul 8th, 08, 9:10 AM I laid on the couch, drank beer with my wife, watched stand up on Comedy Central, and listened to the neighborhood blow up around us.:boring:

kettbo Jul 8th, 08, 11:19 AM I put up another row of stone in the master bath shower
Got the last-minute things from the market
Prepared stuff to take to the BBQ
Went to our yearly gathering at Jeff and Donna's.
Good people, good brew and food.
Around 10:30 out to the back deck to watch the fireworks.
Town of Steilacoom anchors a barge with the fireworks and technicians not even 300 yds away, straight out from their deck. Great show.
OutCast Jul 8th, 08, 1:00 PM Great photos, Jeremy.
I went golfing with the wife and then out for dinner.
Oh right, it's your holiday, not ours. :clonk:

cobaltchev67 Jul 8th, 08, 6:56 PM Worked on the car in the morning, went to lunch with a friend that I've known since we were 5 years old, then slept from 4 to 11 p.m.:boring: and missed the party, slept through the fireworks, then was up the rest of the night. Yeah, it pretty much sucked.
