I replaced the front lines when I rebuilt the front end and would like to replace the original brake lines for the rear. I have the prebent lines but wondered if there was any other parts or pitfalls to be weary of before I attempt the rear lines? The fronts were discs and the rears are drum.
Thanks

Make sure to replace the rear rubber hose line that runs from the frame to the fitting on the axle while you are replacing the rear lines. Replacing the main line that runs from front to rear isn't a bad idea either. Inspect the rear brake cylinders and if either or both are leaking, even a little bit, rebuild or replace them while you are at it.

You can never be too rich, too thin, or have too good of a brake line!
If ANY of the soft lines are more than a few years old, chuck 'em. If they have ANY damage, chuck 'em.
Make sure that you have a flow through ALL of the valves. And don't forget that extra valve at the rear crossmember that holds pressure for the rear drums.
If the hard lines are original, chuck 'em. They were never designed to last that long.
Flush all the OLD fluid out of the hydraulics.
While you're at it pull the body, blast and powder coat the frame, do a full resto and drive like you stole it!

Thanks guys. I'm hoping I can handle all your suggestions except for the "pull the body, powder coat, full resto" thing!! I wish I had the knowledge and the facility to do it though!!
