I have two project cars going together. My 71 ChevelleSS and my son's 70NovaSS. Both cars will be running F*** nine inch rearends. I have a good selection of centersections to build multiple gear ratio setups. The race centersections will be using a spool, while the street gear centersections will need some sort of limited slip carrier. I know F*** made the traction loc and eaton makes a carrier but I haven't been able to find any locally. I recently ran across an article about the nine inch that suggested shimming the differential side gears on a regular open style carrier with two thrust washers instead of one and I guess it works like a limited slip-poor man's posi. Has anyone out there ever tried this? Sounds like a good idea to my wallet after pricing out carriers X 4.
