This seems to come up over and over again; people looking for someone to:

sandblast
powder coat
body work
engine
exhaust
scrapyards/junkyards/recyclers
fix
align
install
etc.

I think we need to find a way to list and categorize these places around the country, with both "it's here, never used them" and "I used them and..." type listings.

Anyone?

great idea but very difficult to maintain and keep current.

Heck we can't people to use the review section much either. Lastly like mentioned above keeping items current would be a full-time job. Then there would be the whole vendor bash aspect that would need to be policed, another full time job. I think asking here on TC when you need a recommendation works alright now. AL is always looking when suggestions are made though. We even have a site discussion forum now for topics like this (and where it got moved to).

It's often a hit or miss result and difficult to do a search for answers.

It would also be much easier to search all the posts in one place than all the posts in all the places, wouldn't it?

Regarding vendor bashing, it can and will happen no matter what as everything from mites to God gets bashed now and then. Why don't we get some feedback from the vendors rather than assuming?

I say that because my business experience is if you are going to have a business you need to expect to have a customer service effort. As the business owner, it's your responsibility to make sure it is in line with your expectations. The worst is having a customer service creed that is not being upheld by your staff. trust me that happens more often than having no or bad customer service.

A possible solution might be to only allow the listing of the co. name address, etc. and a poll-like rating system 0-5.

Anyway, food for thought and thanks,
Fred

The reviews forum (http://www.chevelles.com/reviews/) would work if people would use it.
