Bob West Mar 8th, 04, 9:45 PM I'm partial to the dynomax ultraflo's. Are you running stock springs on the front of your 66? I know mine has pulled the left front a time or two, just havent caught it on tape/film yet,and you're running a half second slower. I know,it must be MY weight up front...lol

onebadd66 Mar 8th, 04, 10:08 PM Hey Bob,very nice ride graemlins/thumbsup.gif the springs are stock on the car,and pretty new.I'm also toying with the idea of putting on travel limiter on the motor,or switching to solid mounts. This should help me launch alittle straighter, along with the air bag.
Are those flows real loud? I won't get them if there not loud :D

mr 4 speed Mar 8th, 04, 10:11 PM Flowmaster 40 series would be pretty obnoxious on your car IMHO Steve..obnoxious in a good way :D
..I can tell you got bit by the speed bug!
onebadd66 Mar 8th, 04, 10:55 PM Hey Chris Loud is good....Right? graemlins/thumbsup.gif it's been about 25 years since my last run down the track with a car I've owned. When We spoke at Etown, that was the first time in 25 years for me. ;) And it felt great to get back in the saddle again.I'll keep scratching that bite this time :D
Don't think I'll go with the 40 flows. Think I'm leaning more to the Ultra flow Dynomax's.

The mandrel bending of the pipes done by aftermarket exhaust companies is good for 2-4 hp depending on the severity of the stock bends. Most local exhaust places don't have a mandrel bender so changing the pipes out doesn't do anything if pipe size it not increased.
My opinion, if its more noise and a little more power just add the best flowing stainless muffler to the current system and never do it again. If you increase pipe sizes, then a local shop and only stainless. Don't care about money but want ease and better gains than most local shops can offer with no pipe size increase, and aftermarket exhaust.
NOISE does NOT equal POWER!!!
Which muffler is quietest but makes the most power?

ddeennis Mar 9th, 04, 1:36 AM i went thru the same dilemia what muffler to get.......what would be better then my 7 year old california turbo mufflers that i bought for 15 bucks each back then?
well i looked and looked and i finally came across Fullboar mufflers.....for 40 bucks each i got the "full flow" design which are fully welded stainless muffler that was rated at 413 cfm flow, 2 1/2" inlet / outlet, and they was rated for engines up to 376 hp.
and they sound good on my car with 2 1/2 pipes from the headers to mufflers and 2 1/4" tail pipes........
i'm sure i dont have the best flowing system under my car but i tell ya what for the money out lay for the mufflers and for the sound it was worth it. anything was better then what i had to start with........
the mufflers i was leaning on before i came across these was the goerlich excelator mufflers http://www.pypesexhaust.com/ they had a good rating for cfm and they sound (just so happens) like what i have now.........if you down load there video for these mufflers this is what my exhaust sounds like......for the money the full boar mufflers i thought couldnt be beat.....i got two mufflers for the price of one georlich and i got the same noise and i feel i probly got just as good flowing muffler.........
might be something to check into.......
onebadd66 Mar 9th, 04, 8:48 AM Thanx for all the replies guys.Hey Matt, that's alot of info.Good stuff.Making me think also to go out the back or just to run strait to the mufflers and dumps perhapse out the sides?Don't know if thats legal here in Jersey. :D
