Just got my Performer RPM intake. The stock vacuum fitting for brakes and cowl induction won't fit. It is too close to the #5 runner.

How do others have it plumbed?

Edelbrock has a "low" profile 90 deg vacuum fitting that you can use there. I had to use one for my vacuum brakes. I also needed to use a 3/8" spacer so the rear bowl on my holley would clear it. (Small block..)

The cowl induction you can tee into any other manifold vacuum line.

Isn't the low profile fitting for the carb clearance issues with the Performer (low-rise)?

The Performer RPM (hi-rise) has clearance issues between the stock vacuum fitting and the #5 intake runner.

Nope. It's for either Performer or RPM. You can also buy yourself the 3/8" 90* fitting and grind the top to clear. Edelbrock just took a standard fitting and milled the top.

I don't why Edelbrock didn't put the vacuum tap in the stock location on the RPM intake..all their other BBC intakes have them in the correct posistion.Jeff, please let us know how the RPM fits with the cowl aircleaner..as its a tight fit..I have a Performer on my 454 which fits perfect with cowl set-up,but it's a 1/2" shorter than the RPM,and tried to close the hood with a 1/2" carb to aircleaner spacer to simulate the height difference between the two,and the hood wouldn't close

Chris, I don't know if we have a similar setup or not, but my Performer RPM fits with my cowl induction hood. Here's a pic -
