I will soon be converting from manual steering on my 64 chevelle to 93-98 grand cherokee power steering. I understand that I will need a power steering pitman arm as my manual steering pitman arm will not fit.

Is the pitman arm the same for all 64-72 chevelles? Don't want to get the wrong arm.

They are going for $60  new where I can find them, this seems like a high price to me.

sounds about right for a pitman arm.
but what are you going to do about hooking up the PS lines? are you going to get adapters and use the stock lines for your car, get some late model lines that will work, or go with some sort of aftermarket setup? if you are getting the line adapters to use stock Chevelle lines- where are you getting them? i need some for my Monte, and i can't remember who makes them.

Line adapters are from Lee Power Steering, I found his number and address in several post here on team chevelle.

I am modifying a 1990 camaro serpentine drive to fit on my early big block, thus I have a 90's model PS pump with metric fittings. I plan to try the camaro lines that are metric on both ends and see how they fit.

ok- just for kicks, i went toe the Fastenal site to see if they had any fittings custom made for putting the later steering box in an older car- and, yup, they sell them.. listed as "power steering adapters", no less. made by Eaton Weatherhead.
the smaller return fitting is Eaton part number 1446- 16X1.5 metric male threads to 5/8" flare with a 3/8" tube diameter. the Fastenal # is 0443572 and they show it costing $8.51 and being in stock.
the big fitting is Eaton part number 1447- 18X1.5 metric male threads to 5/8" flare with a 3/8" tube diameter. Fastenal doesn't list it- i found it at the Eaton Weatherhead online catalog- but i'm sure if you were to ask about it at Fastenal or your local parts store, they could get it.
Eaton says both fittings come with o-rings.
on my 74 Monte, i will need to put a smaller flare nut on my high pressure line- it has bigger threads and an 11/16" hex head so you don't hook the box up backwards- but that's an easy thing to do with my flaring tool. but it would be nice if Eaton would make the proper fitting for this swap, and maybe package them as a kit or something. i might have to send them an email to suggest it, and if some others did as well, they might make the proper fittings.

When I did mine the other week, I went with a male metric pipe to female standard pipe for the box. Then I got a standard male pipe to 6-AN fitting. For the pump I just threaded in a male standard pipe to 6-AN fitting. The place I got the fittings can make up pressure hoses with 6-AN swiveled ends for about $15 . Mine looks and works great.
