I'm looking at a pretty rough 70 ss396, 350hp, bench seat, auto on column, non a/c.

The car is very original down to the ss rims. All of the interior is there including the original 8track player. Supposed to be original motor and trans.

The problem is it has a vinyl top that rusted serious holes in the roof. Both quarters, floors, trunk, deck lid, fenders all need to be replaced.

Can anyone give me estimate of what this car is worth? I'm looking to make a decision in the next day or two.

Thanks,
Lee

I would verify the numbers match before I made any serious offers? How is the frame under the trunk ? If the sheet metal is that bad chances are the frame won't be that far behind it. I would say closer to $5k if the numbers all match. The labor alone in all that sheet metal work will be several thousand $$. I just did one quarter, trunk floor, trunk braces, rear window filler, and tail pan in my 69 and it was very time consuming. I didn't need to do a roof or the right quarter like you would need to. Can you do all the labor yourself ??

Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.

I can pick up the car for $5000. I forgot to mention that there is a build sheet verifying the SS option.

I will do all of the sheetmetal and body work myself so i'm not too concerned about the labor. I'm just going to have to keep my eyes open for a donor roof.

Thanks again,
Lee

They repop the roof now. Check with almost any vendor.

Lee, it always sounds like a good deal for an SS at $5,000. But check the frame for rust. Also as stated above, check the engine, trans and rear #s.
