Hi guys. I recently came across a 10 bolt rear from a 1981 Turbo Trans-Am. It still has all the original rear disc brake parts. My question is: Will the entire disc brake set-up bolt directly onto my 12 bolt rear in my 69 Chevelle??? Anything that might "bite me" if I tried this? TIA Pat

i would like to think it would work. I made a 77 caddy rear brake set up work pretty easy on my 12 bolt. The e-brake even works for me. Maybe somebody else will chime in. I also hear u can get the late model f-body rear brakes to work as well.

I had an issue when I changed my 68 Camaro over to Rear Discs from a 79 Trans Am. I had a set of Moser Axles made to work for the setup. It had to do with different ends on the axles.

Check out the kits at www.kore3.com
They use late model components that are FAR superior to the old stuff and are reasonably priced. Tobin @ Kore3 also offers awesome customer service!

We converted a 1985 Trans Am rear disk brake setup onto a 68 Camaro. We had to weld the holes shut on the backer(?) plate and drill new holes so it had the same pattern as the 68 but other than that and doing minimal retro fit on the parking brake cables it fit well and works well.

I have a 1967 Chevelle and after looking at the bracket from a 1987 Trans Am the holes are different. I intend to do the same thing you did. Did the rotors fit over the original axles? Can you tell me the position of the mount for the caliper? Does it go to the rear or the front when mounting the bracket?
Thanks in advance for any help.....
