I am putting a saginaw 4 speed in my 65 chevelle. it has a bench seat and i will not be using a console. i would like to know if anyone could point me in the right direction for a shifter with all the linkage and hardware. Do you need to know what year trans it is in order to get the right shifter?

I would purchase a new Hurst shifter and install kit. You will not need the year, but be sure it is for a bench seat.

This is the one I would get, I had the same install kit on my Saginaw. You can reuse that shifter if you ever change to a muncie, just get a new install kit. That is what I did.

You may have to change the shifter handle to fit the bench seat. If your tall, it may not be a problem

Thank you very much, yea im pretty tall 6'3'' so the stick it comes with will probaly work good for me. So get that shifter and then the install kit that is listed below it?

Yes, those are good part numbers for the shifter and the install kit. I'm 5'5" so I would be hunting for a new stick :D
