Looking to purchase an aluminum radiator for my 70 chevelle 396. I know many on here is going to refer Alumitech and I would love to get one of those, I just can't bring my self to pay $500 for a radiator. Anyhow, I was thinking about one from JEGS. Anyone have any experience with Jegs radiators and if so what particular one. Anyone with an opinion can chime in.

I think you can start at about $150 and end at the $500 Alumitech. As you pay more you will get more. I would think you start getting to pretty good at $300 but being in Texas with an A/C car it was not worth the $200 gamble for me. Keep in mind fit and appearance to go with performance. Don could make 'em cheaper if they were more generic.

In the end it will be that "You get what you pay for."

It isn't the place to try to go cheap. Bite the bullet and go Alumitech and you won't ever regret it.
From a very satisfied customer of Don.

I put a Summit/Northern in my '68 with some adaptation and have had decent results...

I have NEVER heard a bad word about Alumitech though.

Thanks guys for all the good words ... I understand being on a budget... and the saying is true .. you get what you pay for ...with us you get old time craftmanship.. each rad has my signature .. I do all the tig welding .. there not mig welded like others .. 100% american cores and componants .. CORRECT FIT .. a mirror image of the original short of a Harrison embossment ...this means no alterations .

save your pennies a bit longer do it right ,put something right in your classic American muscle car ....but its always up to the customer , what they can afford .

If it's worth $500, and it is, why not get it? Excellent radiator, the best fit of any radiator you can buy, top quality. There's several places on the car that's just not worth compromising on, and a radiator is one of them IMO. Get the Alumitech.

Go with the Alumitech radiator, Don is a first class guy with a great product. I live about 10 miles from a Jegs store so I can return things easliy, if that is your situation then you could take the risk on the Jegs radiation since there is no shipping involved. I did not do that, based on the reputation that Alumitech has on this site of very demanding customers.

Just a question...Why are the manual transmission radiators the same price? You would think us stick shift guys would get a little break.
