I don't know the car personally, but it has been for sale for quite a while and the asking price really hasn't moved. This is a car that really needs a thorough inspection to make sure it's all that they claim it to be, should you be interested. It looks like a lot of money was spent on the restoration but from the few pictures I don't understand the Caution Sticker, wrong master and no grey spiral shocks. Once you get to this level, I'm surprised they let these details go. Nice looking car for sure, with good colors.

Ditto to what Mike said. Several things wrong and for that kind of coin, you would think it would be "spot on"!

The car is in Wisconsin, it may be a mid west car or maybe not, but here is a clear picture of a floor pan support, you need to get close up pictures of the rust prone areas on the underside of the car, clear pictures.

The other thing is that it was soda blasted, now depending on who did it and if they knew what they were doing, I would look into that end of it.

You could have problems down the road if they didn't get the acid out of the pinch welds, and the subject on that is debateable.

This picture looks like the floor support and pan would be okay, this one wasn't to bad, but I did find one support just behind the front seat that had a heavy build up of rust and scale, enough that you could run your hand over the floor board inside the car and actually feel and see where the rust actually made it swell up. The floor itself still had the original paint and looked good, but that was an eye opener.

Back to the picture of the floor support, you can't see it here, but in between the floor pan and support, after I sandblasted it, it looked like there was metal in between the two just a thin line, and it was hard like metal, but when I took out the support is was hardened rust scale.

Theres a lot of cars out there that have the same type of rust problems, and thats where the big bucks come into play, panel replacement.

You ask for opinions, and as far as the car your looking at, it sure looks good, but for that kind of money, it shouldn't have rust between the spot welds.

One other thing about soda blasting, it won't remove rust.

If I was going to buy a car thats 40 years old for the price of this one, I would have somebody look it over that has been in on a frame off restoration of an old car, not necessarily a body man but somebody that has had experience in taking one down all the way.

Hope this helps you out.

Rob

It's a shame someone would spend that amount of time and money on a resto and not get the details correct.

...won't take much to make it correct
removing the bogus "caution" sticker is free :)
Spiral shocks and the correct master aren't big dollar items..the biggest fault IMHO is that damn sticker...I see those on alot of Fords :D

Thanks everyone. I was hoping someone here had laid eyes on it or knew the owner. I had one of my cars out for most of the weekend and it was almost 90 degrees. Too hot without air. I told the wife if I could find a Phathom blue 70 with air in excellant shape I would buy it. I am pretty good at 69 cars, not so much on 70's. I spotted a few things, but would like some opinions here before I contact the owner. All opinions welcome. Rob, thanks for the picture too! I don't understand the fan sticker. When I see that, I almost always assume whoever put it on doesn't know Chevys too good.
