Can you clean / coat a set of headers after years of use? I see these pictures of nice looking headers and I gotta do something with mine!

Yes, I had my 15 year old rusted headers sandblasted and ceramic coated. Still look great after two years.

I have a set of ceramic coated(hooker comp) headers and mine are starting to peel and rust after one year of use. I was told when they get to this point it is good to ceramic coat them cause the pores in the metal have cured and will not rust or peel again after they are redone. jet hot will do them for $125.00

Thanks for the info- just went on line and saw it runs $275 for the pair to de-rust and ceramic coat! Sound about right?

70convt396, thanks for the compliment. My Brother In Law has a powder coat shop so mine got done VERY cheap. He says he charges about $200 for everyone else depending on how much prep work needs to be done.

You might be better off with new headers. I would of bought new if I couldn't have got them done as cheap as I did. You don't need to be a member to post a picture. You need to have the picture hosted on the web somewhere. If you become a member though, you will get your own showroom like I use to share pictures. Being a member has many benefits and this is just one of them.

Sorry about that. I was going to buy dynomax but the guy who hung my exhaust told me to buy the hooker headers cause they make sure the pipes are the same length which means the back pressure will be the same for each cylinder which is always good.

FWIW, I put Dynomax ceramicoated headers on my Chevelle, and used Eastwods header paint on my Camaro's headers, and the Eastwood coating lasted just as long in my case. The coating on my Dynomax started to flake after one year, and peel in two. The Header paint held up well for two years before flaking, but that's with a lot more daily driver miles and it's only a few bucks to recoat. Just thought I'd add my $0.02.
