hey all

just wondering if the 30a relay(painless fanthom wiring)is enough for a lincoln mark VIII electric fan. the reason i ask is because, sometimes on cold startup the fan comes on,then other times its fine and comes on around 200' or so.mabye i have another problem???
i'm kinda scared of electrical so please forgive my ignorance.
thanks

Do you have a that relay or are you needing one? I personally like factory bosch relays, but that one should work.

Don't be scared of electrical stuff, just think of it like water. You have pressure(voltage), gallons per minute(amperage), and it flows to the path of least resistance.

The best way to size a relay is to find out how many amps your fan draws. I would size the relay for a least 125% of fan amperage. Example : Fan rating 20 amps X 1.25 = 25 amps. Use a 30 amp relay. Unlike carbs and cams, bigger is ok and usually better.
