All the Clip Studs were removed a couple of years ago.Dummy me,forgot to write down any measurements of the location of the clips.Does anybody know how far up and down in the channel they go.Can't remember if they go all the way down or how far up they go.Any help would be greatly appreciated.:(

That is going to be tough for you. If you have a "spitznagel" stud gun or the like you can purchase an attachment to re-weld studs in the glass channel. Another way you can do it if you want but is time consuming, screw in the clips with phillips screws and snap in your moldings for a test run. If they do not work, pull out the screw and fill the hole and move the clip over or reweld the area and re-screw the clip back in. Takes a lot of time but can be done, ask me how I know.

I was hoping somebody had a measurement,so I don't have to do the test run of installing the clips, then have them too high or too low.thanks Carlos for the reply.I think the clip when installed goes pretty close to the bottom of the channel, but just not sure

I just had the front and back glass installed on a 70 chevelle in my shop, I can ask my glass man tomorrow and see if he knows if it would help you. He does alot of classic car work.

When I reinstalled new clips, they all seemed to bottom out in the channel and locked up on the clip. Maybe that would help to measure.

Here is the spacing for the bottom section on mine. Not sure it will help though

Thanks - Black with Black will look awesome.....

- the studs looked original along the bottom. I didn't see where the previous owner would have either welded or screwed them in. I am assuming that the spacing was original.

Maybe one of the guys on the site who had the glass out the first time can verify the spacing for sure.......

The clips (Hinshaws) just pushed on and snap locked. Used a small piece of wood with a hammer to tap them down. Taking them back off (I was test fitting trim before the window went back in) was more work, need a little tool I fabricated to unlock them from the stud.....

Top and sides were a little tough with the vinyl top. It wraps around and is glued and you have to make a cut around the studs. Trim is really tight to press onto the studs because of the thickness of the vinyl. Goes on but a little tougher to do than without.

Hope this helps....

do you still need the measurements? My 67 is all apart and I can take some measurements if needed ( I assume you want to know how far from the lip of the channel, not how far apart (maybe both?)....the distance between them seems inconsistent, but more important is how far from the channel lip for proper trim fit. let me know

good luck

That would be good.I really appreciate you guys helping me out. From the looks of Mike's pics, looks like the clips go all the way down and touch the bottom channel.I guess they go all the way down on the top too?How many total clips are there suppose to be

center of stud is 5/16" from lip. 6 0r 7 across top/bottom, 3 on each side (at least that's what's on mine). didn't measure how far they stick out since the screw in type have a shoulder that predetermines the depth (hope that makes sense?)
