Could someone please post a picture of the correct AM or AM/FM antenna for the right front passenger fender. I understand from searching some of the other posts that there are 2 different kinds. At a show this weekend, a man told me that my antenna was incorrect for a chevelle, but I have not been able to find pics to show the correct one. Currently my car has an AM only in it but I am going to upgrade to a factory AM/FM unit. Any help would be appreciated.

Rod, the correct AM antenna for 1969 is the telescoping variety. It has three individual sliding sections. The shape is a very narrow "oval" including the tip at the top (you see a lot with the oval mast, but the tip is round). The antenna is easily removed by loosening a nut at the base which attaches the unit to the bezel on the car. The loosening nut is actually part of the antenna mast itself. It was installed either on the passenger fender or the passenger quarter panel.

I can't really describe the AM/FM style, but it was fixed mast and installed only on the fender.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. Is this antenna available aftermarket? If not, is there anybody who sells these NOS or restored? After seeing these pics, I don't think mine is correct.

Denny is the same guy I got my antenna from he lives in Ocala Fla. He also has both kinds for the front fender and the one for the rear quarter.
