Rechrome your old bumpers and save yourself aggravation and a headache. It is more expensive, but you will never have to address it again.

The repro bumpers I have seen are thin metal and mediocre chrome.

I rechromed my original bumpers.

I used Wells Bumpers in Collinsville, Ok 918-371-2551.

Joe does all repair work (if necessary) and all preparation work. After it is chromed he does polishing. He has someone else do the actual chrome work.

He is not cheap, he is not fast but he turns out good work. If it is not right he will do it all again.

He does a lot of the show chrome for Tulsa area show cars and street rods.

My repop on the front doesnt look as good as the rear original. Chrome not as good quality and you can see some slight sanding marks. Redo your original if you can.

I am in the middle of this headache right now. I got cheap and bought a set of after market bumpers and the front is much worse than the rear. I will deal with the rear for a while but the front does not fit and the chrome is horrible. Going to get the original front redone for now and deal with the rear after I get the car running.
