Guys Today I installed a 1" open phenolic spacer on my 383... AirGap intake and Road deamon 725... Now with no changes it idles about 300rpm higher.. What gives???? Sounds good maybe I just need to reset idle now??? I checked for vac leaks and all was fine....

What do you think???

Are you sure the throttle carble isn't somehow "loading" and pulling the throttle arm(overpowering the return spring?) Is the arm seating solidly against its stop?

Vacum leak? If you were running a little too much fuel at idle and you introduced a vacum leak with the spacer, it seems like that would make it idle higher also.

Make sure you also check your plugs, I used a 1" and then a 2" spacer, each time I had to re-jet because it was starting to lean out.
