I had one once. Just something to get wet in. It's very important to have the ground under it perfectly level or very close to it. If not the pool will be lopsided.

I call them 'condom pools' because of the 'roll' @ the top.

They'll do in a pinch I guess but I'd be worried if it was close to the house and I had young ones.

Can you say flood ???

I have one, 18' X 4', not a bad deal for the money. I am on my 4th year with it and I think it's the last. I will be replacing it with a hard sided one next year.
Here are the problems with the soft sided types:
The inflatable ring on top is very susceptible to puncture from cats, dogs, raccoons etc. Once that has leaks (like mine) you end up filling it every day,(yes I have patched it in several spots, not a good look either) if the puncture is large enough and the ring takes on water, it will drain your pool into your neighbors yard pretty quick (ask me how I know) The being on level ground is also important, the first year mine was slightly lopsided, the next year I was very careful to have a perfectly level site with an additional 4" of sand for the bed, well the pool had already become permanently deformed from that first year.
The pump, filter, skimmer, connecting hoses, and other accessories are pretty much disposable products too, especially the hoses. I'm on my third set, but what do I expect for $300.00?
Does it work? Heck yes! Especially when you live where the temps exceed 100 on a regular basis.
They're cheap and easy to set up, but if you expect to get more than a couple of seasons out of one you will be disappointed.

My wife and I had one our first year in our house. Definately has to be on, perfect as possible, level ground. It lasted the whole summer. On the last week of summer while my wife and I were gone it decided to leak. We live in the country so no harm was done with the leak, however the seam split and I assume the water came out pretty quickly, I think it was due to my dog jumping on it she loves the water.

It worked great to cool off and enjoy some family time. Well worth the money.

We now have a Dougbhboy and love it, got it used for free. Next stop in a couple years is an in-ground
