"dry lakes racer Frank Sloan, his message below;

"After a few years of hard work on #2405! I got a record at El
Mirage dry lake 148.4 mph G Production class 121ci. That should make CV people proud, the record was held by a Honda."

If only Chevy would could have released this car with the Cosworth engine as originally planned!

If that's a Vega they did come with Cosworth engines. Check any Chilton manual for them, there is a black/gold one running around Boise as a daily driver. Also came in mettallic green/gold.

You could order them in any color in 76. What I meant was the engine as originally panned was 12 to 1 compression and was a hot little number.. emissions laws killed the power output.

Thanks for the color info. There is a guy in Boise that set a record at Bonneville in a Chevy Monza with a 4 cylinder Fiat engine. Also got into the 200 mph club with it. It was in his garage under a tarp, I asked about it while looking at so carbs at a yard sale. Can't remember the class. There are also some guys in Emmett Idaho running a Dodge pickup with a six in a obscure class looking for a record.
