I'm going through the same thing on my 70 Chevelle. I'm going to go with a 28x11.5x15 ET Street on a 15x10 prostar with 5.5 bs. On the strip though I'm going to run the same wheel with a 30x10.5. Hope that helps.

My bro in law runs the 28x12.5x15 ET streets on 15x10 ..5.5 bs weld drag lites. Works and looks killer. This is on a 69 Chevelle.

I just bought a pair of Hoosier "Quick Time Pro's" from Blaauboer. They are 29x13.5x15 which I will mount on 15x10 Weld rims w/ 5.5" B/S which I have not found yet......These tires are DOT approved slicks.

I've tried both ET Streets and Hoosier QTP's and they work about the same. I currently run the QTP's and can get air under the front tires on a clean street.

Mickey Thompson's new Drag Radials are supposedly gonna be the new stickiest DOT tire available. They may be a bit much for the street enthusiast though. They are basically a slightly modified M5 compound slick with a couple treads in it from what guys said after seeing them at the trade shows this spring. Very soft and will melt like butter on the street. Suppost to be out in mid-april from what I was told by MT.

What would be the best tire to run on the street? Depends on what you want, best traction? Best Price? Best treadlife or best handling? It seems they all have their place depending on application. You might not want to drive a aggresive street drag tire if you have any gravel roads or you may not want to pay big $$ every three months for tires!

I had BFG DR & they lasted 6 months till the cords were showing. 60fts were not to great but the car was a 4 speed with spray.

I was going to try ET streets next for the added traction at the track, but I noticed that BFG lowered the prices on drag radials! Since my car is N/A automatic now I might try the BFG's again!
