I just installed a top frame on my 66 Chevelle, there is no vinyl top material on it yet, I need to have that installed. The question I have is why does the top frame droop down at the hinge point (above the doors, first hinge point on both sides)? It should be straight after unfolding the top and resting the header on the front windshield area. I was curious if the top material, once installed, will help pull this up or do I need to make some adjustments first?

There should be metal cables with turn buckles attached on both sides that can be adjusted to take the slack out and get the frame square. This is how the top frame was on my former '67 Firebird 400.
