Right now I have basic mufflers that sound pretty good, but I am putting my new engine in soon(350 320 horse) and want a new exhaust system that flows and sounds better. I don't want something extremely loud but enough to her me comming. Right now the pipes are cut off just after the muffler and inside my car it is really annoying.I can hear loud hum, is this because pipes don't go all the way back? Also Do you recommend bringing the pipes straight out the back and put those chevelle tips on or bring them out the side behind the wheel with those salami style tips?
thanks

I like Dynomax mufflers. Affordable, loud when you go WOT and smooth at idle. I have 2.5" running all the way out the rear, just under the bumper. This helps keep the noise out of the convertible. I have a cross-over pipe as close to the headers as it would fit. This system was custom built at Sweeney's in Torrance, CA for $230, plus the cost of my own mufflers. They used aluminized pipe, and I am extremely happy with the sound and look.

My driver has 2.25" pipes from manifolds with Dynomax 2.5" SuperTurbos for muffs. Taking the pipes out the back will quiet it down considerably. Works good for my just under 300hp engine.

how much you want to spend? i'd recommend the Torque Tech 2 1/2" system with all mandrel bends and tailpipes, then you can get whatever mufflers you can fit under there. Flowmaster also makes a full length system. i think either are around $400 by the time you get mufflers, and even more if you pay a shop to put it on.

around 500-600 including the cost of labor at a shop
