I have started on restoring the instrument panel on our 67 SS396 Chevelle and want to replace the fuel/battery, oil pressure/temperature gauges (but I want an electrical oil pressure instead of mechanical). I read in post here on TC that OPGI gauges are not as correct as others and shiftworks are correct, but mechanical oil pressure. What about the replacement sets from Ground Up- are the better that OPGI and the OP gauge electrical? If not where can I get good replacement gauges with the OP electric?
FYI in restoring the pods that hold the gauges and the carrier, we used safety green paint (could not find mint green anywhere) and it looks very close to the ones I have seen here done in mint and being "a safety color" should reflect better. Just thought I would pass that on.
Any help on replacement gauges will be appreciated.
Thanks
Larry
