Ugh, I need to rant!!! Well since I was laid off I've been having bad luck like there's no tomorrow! I had another post with everything that had happen the first month. Now it's just been one thing after another!!!

My parents went on their first "real" vacation since I was born. They went to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The first night, my mom stepped off a curb and shatters her hip. Her other hip was replaced last year. So she spends her two week getaway in a hospital bed! Comes home. I'm trying to take care of her while my dad works (now glad I lost my job!). My dad gets home from work the second day, and my mom starts screaming in the garage. I run out to find her leg dislocated and hanging off the side of her body! Went through the whole 911 fiasco. Turns out the Wyoming hospital used old school technology and chances are the hip will continue to dislocate. Insurance will not pay for another surgery. Oh, then I get kicked out of the hospital for threatning an x-ray tech because she said my mom was being a baby because she wouldn't roll over on the table...HELLO HER LEG IS JUST HANGING THERE:mad:!!!

I then get a call that my Grandma is in the hospital. She had been getting sick on a trip to texas for my cousins graduation. Come to find out she had two blood clots in her brain. They operated on her. She has been getting worse and worse with every day that passes. Last year my dad's mom passed but they were kind of the distant granparents because they live in Indiana. Not that I didn't care about my dad's side but my mom's side was ALWAYS around. Now, my grandma is in a hospital in Texas and my mom can't go see her.

I then get a very relaxed call from my grandpa in Indiana just "mentioning" his house has floated away in the rain they're having! We're all trying to help him out but he's be arrogant (he did just lose his house that him and my grandma lived in for the past 40 years).

Then, a couple days ago my aunt and uncle in texas called to tell us their house was hit by lightning, and I guess they lost power and still don't have it back.

Then, I'm working on a car for a friend for some money and I had the rearend on the work bench. I was setting up some gears when the front of the bench decided to give and the rear end fell so I grabbed it real quick and hurt my back in the process. I called it a day after that and went inside. Turned on the tv (1 year old 60 inch lcd) was watching for a few minutes and all of a sudden smoke and then nothing!!?? I was so sick of it I just laughed and went upstairs to watch my tv, my brother told me it made a loud pop earlier when he was watching it, it blew too!!??

SO, today I just decided I needed to go for a drive! One positive thing is over the past couple weeks, I've pretty much finished the chevelle. I didn't have the hood on but other than that its done. So I decided to drive it. I took it out to the parking lot across the street from my house and drove in circles, it is NICE!!!! I LOVE the feeling of wider tires! So I do the nascar swerving thing and they bite nice!! Then all of a sudden a LOUD (and boy do I mean LOUD) snap/pop. I shut it off and get out, there's power steering fluid everywhere so I figure lines to hydroboost. Nope, and this is proof of my abnormal bad luck....the shaft that the pitman arm installs on, BUSTED through the top of the steering box!!!??? WTH!!!??? l:)I was so amazed, I don't think I was even that mad!

I'm almost affraid to say the classic "atleast I have my health" in fear of jynxing it!!! WHEN WILL ALL THIS BAD LUCK END!!!???

You really are on a crappy streak. I can only hope that things get better for you. Ill tell you what, before I go to bed tonight, Ill say a little prayer for you and the slump you cant seem to get out of. Some people dont believe, I do, and if you dont, it cant hurt for me to try. I hope that the Chevelle and TVs aside, that at least you and you family can heal quickly and stay healthy. Its old and cliche, hard to do in situations like this, believe me Im a cancer survivor, but you have to think positive. Hope everything gets better for you

Hang in there, hopefully you will be getting some good luck soon. At least you can fix the Chevelle, getting a hip fixed is a long process. Dont let the insurance company screw around they want you to give up so they can save money. If you are persistant they will eventually cave in.

Do you play guitar? or harmonica? Sing? If you do it sounds like a great time to write a blues song. It could hit the top 10 and you would become an instant millionaire!

Go buy a lottery ticket...you're due man. And cheer up at least you're still above ground things could be way worse. I know it will all turn around for you.

Well, a quick update.

I was in the hospital today and yesterday, I have two hernieated discs in my back...whatever the heck that is!?

My mom started physical therapy, her hip dislocated 30 minutes into it:sad:

And I get home today and check my cell phone to find out a guy from high school "made a bad decision" (which I found out about in the hospital) had left me a message earlier that day:(

Man, when it rains, it freakin POURS!!!!!! I think I'm going to have to put the chevelle away for awhile so I can work all this out!:(

Thanks for lending an ear guys!

I'll tell you from personal experience, the TV, the chevelle and crap like that doesn't matter one bit, not at all. What matters is family. You can always get a new TV, you can always fix the chevelle someday, you can't replace loved ones when they are gone. Take care of your family and forget al about the chevelle and the petty crap, worry about your family and do what you have to do to help them.

I was laid off Jan.14th of this year, the day before (Jan 13th) my mom was admitted to the hospital, two days later we found out she has Luekemia. It became a blessing for me to have been laid off. My mom passed away in April, I went and thanked my boss for laying me off, even though it put me in incredible financial hardships, it allowed me to spend so much time with my mom.

Things happen for a reason, you may not know what it is now, but someday you will and then it will all make sense.

I probably would have ended up in jail over the x-ray tech. I went through the hip thing with my mother. She was in a lot of pain with it. Anyone to make that kind of a remark should have theirs pulled out and see who's a baby.
Anyhow I was told once 'the sun doesn't shine on the same dogs asse everyday.' So I guess that means it doesn't rain on it everyday either. There is a lot to be said for positive thinking. I was laid off many times too. It got to the point where I started to look forward to it. Usually meant there was something better waiting down the road. I try to find a silver lining in things even though it's not easy. Maybe as said the reason for these things happening won't be realized yet. Hang in there!
