Thank-you to this fantastic web site. I've picked up alot of info over the last months and it paid off with a great first trip to the track. My driving needs work as this is my first time in a real drag car so I'm excited to develop my skills but the car ran great. Locals say the track is pretty bad and it was in the high 90's so the air wasn't the greatest but for first-timers we had a blast. The other racers were a big help w/ burnout, VHT application , and staging techniques. Spokane raceway park runs a Pro Tree.We were running 11.5# in 10 x 29 Hoosier Slicks, air bags Left 5# Right 13#,Launch @ 3000 RPM off trans brake,Shift @ 7000 RPM , Max RPM @ traps 7400 RPM

Marv, The 496 is set up like this: 4 bolt billet caps, block filler,
Scat steel crank and H beam rods, Ross 13:1 pistons, Comp CB 323B-R12 Roller cam .782/720 lift 289/289 duration @.05 112 lobe sep., Comp lifters, Manley springs,Crower roller rockers, Old world products cast iron heads, ported & polished, ended up w/ combustion chambers @ 122 C.C. runners are 320 CC. Edelbrock Victor , 1050 Dominator , 6al w/ comp 9000 dist. locked out using msd start retard box. Turobo 400 reverse pattern w/ 5000 stall. GM 12 Bolt 4:56 Spool w/ 29/10 hoosiers.
