I'm happy to report that the UD Harold cam supply spigot has been turned on again. I received mine today direct from Lunati, as ordered from Harold. Bill should also receive his today. smile.gif

Thanks, that makes me feel better. The card was charged a week after the order with Harold so if I add a week to the card charge date, I should have the new bumpstick tomorrow and I can work all weekend. Sounds like a good plan to me. It's been three weeks since my conversation with Harold and the order, so I guess I'm just anxious to get this car back on the road.

Call Lunati customer service...I did.
They checked the actual shipping date and gave me a UPS tracking number over the phone.

Well, I just called Harold and stepped up from the 276/286 hydraulic cam I'm running now to the solid lifter version of the 280/288 !!! :D :D :D

He said it should be sent out next Friday!!!

James, Is that the 272/276 solid? 272/282?

I was having such an interesting conversation with him I couldn't keep track of everything he was telling me. He said the lash could be set anywhere from .030 to .020. That way I would have some additional tuning capability in case the pinging problem I have doesn't go away. With the info I gave him though he was confident the cam would solve my problem and I agree.

As I told him, I was quite pleased with the performance of the 276/286H but since I ended up with a tad more compression than I figured on I have a detonation issue that must be solved! Since I have a new set of solids stashed in my shop I decided to just go ahead and get the solid lifter cam. Thats my story and I'm stickin to it anyway!!! :D

I got the 272/272 for more low end torque. My baby rat 396 needs it. But that won't be a problem in a year or so when I build and install the 454 I bought the other day.

I would rather have a little less cam to avoid any drivability issues. I'm a cruise in/car show guy and don't need a big cam. I made an error in choosing parts and ended up with a little too much compression or I would not be making the change. I already have a 2200 stall converter so Harold says I'll be OK.
