Total Seal makes some sort of powser......sounds real strange to me!

I have heard of folks using Marvel Mystery oil.

Marvel Mystery Oil has worked for me during my recent engine build, plus I used it on the cylinder walls, however some do install pistons with the walls dry. :eek:

Plain ol' 30# engine oil works fine. Put some oil into the ring grooves before installing the rings, then squirt oil onto the ring faces after putting them onto the pistons and clocking the gaps. Spread plenty of oil onto the cylinder walls and the piston skirts. You're ready to go.

I use ATF. Most machine shops I've dealt with told me to use that.
