I have a 69 chevelle with a 396bb and am wanting to put a mechanical temperature sensor on the thermostat housing. I have searched this forum and continue to search the web, but cannot find the information I am wanting. Can anyone recommend a steel unit which is pre-drilled and tapped to accept a sensor bulb? THANKS!!

Can't you just use the fitting next to the T-stat housing for the temp gauge? If not, you can get something like this...

I saw an engine that had the temp guage itself attached (screwed into) t the t-stat housing. Does anyone know where I can get a guage like that? Thanks
