Hey All,

I'm curious and hopefully this makes a good topic for all and for people to look on.

But what is your preference and why?

I like to be blown,,,no explanation necessary :D

Depends on the ride.

My current project will have TWIN-Turbos. :D

Turbo(s) and EFI are my preference, with superchargers being in second place.

There's just no substitute for boost; once you've had it or experienced it, you're hooked. Superchargers are fine and all (mine works great) but turbos are where my real interest is; there's simply no other feeling like the "plateau" of torque a well sorted turbo motor makes.

Boost gives you the ability to have lots of power and still have perfect street manners if done right, since the motor off-boost will be very tame. It's just about the best of all worlds, except cost and complexity, which are easily forgiven IMO.

I have a prospective buyer for my Prochager, and I'm currently specing out how much it would cost to move on over to twin turbos...

I am partial to turbos easy HP. Blower would be nice but too much for my blood

Blown on nitrous. Really.

I would consider a Single turbo after This year with an Vortech.

Twins are to much money in.

EFI and Centrufugal Blower for Now.

Procharger with aluminum after cooler. Because I would like to keep everything under the hood and would love the sound and power band of the engine.

Although I use nitrous, it is a pain and not really cheap at all.

My new engine is using cubic inches instead of forced induction, as well as being able to shoot a 200-300 shot on that if need be.\

Given no money constraints, I would use a turbo. I am not massively impressed with centrifugals since they have linear boost vs RPM unlike a turbo. Certainly can get one to run, and the lesser torque down low may be a benefit, but a turbo seems to be the best of all worlds.

DF Cripes. Now we got sex addict dentists at TC.

Gets wilder here all the time. ;)

My preference does not matter. My wallet matters and my wallet has limited my preferences. If I had money to toy with, I would opt for TT's but the engineering and cost could get overwhelming for me, personally. I want to go ATI but, again, I could throw 3-5K+ at suspension, interior, wheels, and go all motor on the build up and sit very pretty.

Awesome to see guys out there that have the abilitiy and the cash to do the more extravagant stuff. I have come to the conclusion that I will never be one of them. So - ALL MOTOR. Not just because I want to but also because, well, I have no choice. :D

Nitrous ain't that expensive if you find a source and fill them yourself.

I am up in Canaduh and even I can fill my own for less than $4/lb. ($3/lb US approx.)

The nitrous is less cost per evening than the difference if I were running race fuel.

(food for thought - run a pump gas nitrous motor - cheaper than N/A high compression race gas or blown/race gas. Granted, it is more trouble to fill/heat bottles but if you have a deepfreeze and a hottub it is easy.)

Hi Ryan, That nitrous is only about $1.00 a pound to the wholesalers, so someone is getting raped here. If one could do there own it would be much cheaper, but there is the problem of keeping it at the right temperature, about 80-90 degrees, and stable. Go to DragStuff.com for a article on bottle temp. and other helpful N20 information.

DF Yeah, that makes sense. Use the nitrous to cool the charge.

stick with a properly set up super charger its always on tap and you never have to fill it and need more power just change a pully. and the best part it provides a positive cushion on the bearings and it dont slm them like normal asperation does . not to mention it is not hard on pistons like nos just my opinion with some small facts have run several blown motors ..

Turbo EFI for sure. Doesnt use engine power to spin them up. A boost controller can let u run from 87-110+ octane. Front mounted intercoolers are wicked for getting big power on pumpgas. Well street mannered, and can build obsene amounts of torque. Hearing a turbo spool and the sound of an external wastegate or bov is pretty nifty too ;)

I think superchargers have the ultimate awe-factor. I love the real radical setups with 10-71 to 14-71 blowers with a BDS hat and MFI, or some nifty EFI. I prefer that look over the dual carbs. And the lopey whine at idle is wicked.

On most applications I like N/A better than any forced induction. But like someone else said, it depends on the vehicle.
