Well, I tried the racing aluminum radiator route … and a typical 19” tall core is just too tall, and I couldn’t bring myself to hack up my core support.

What options are out there for a decent 3 or 4 core radiator?

Motor is a 454, probably won’t ever be over 400hp. I have the original a/c core support (extra wide opening), factory 4 bolt top plate, and a Windstar fan setup. Seems like I remember the core support needs modified for a 4 core radiator? So, is my simplest option a 3 core?

What’s available out there for the most value, around $200?

Thanks, Neal

Well, I'm around 550-575 and running a stock 2 core SB radiator, clutch fan. I do have an Edelbrock pump though. Runs 180 all the time, 190 stuck in traffic.

Try a regular radiatoe first.

I slipped a 4 row in my (originally 350) 69 elky without any problem. Just had to buy new rubber cushions top and bottom. I did have to notch the 4 bolt top plate on the drivers side to accomodate the cushion. Later bought a repro plate that is larger at that point.
