If it didn't make 500 at peak, something would be wrong with it.

My new combo is pretty much the exact same! graemlins/thumbsup.gif
(but my solid cam doesn't roll) :(
Do you guys really think 475-500 horsepower will come from this?

Depends on what RPM it will attain, but my guess is around 420 - 430 hp and 470 - 480 trq. Expected, Headers, HEI and curved, etc. The compression is 10.2, which keeps me below the 440 hp mark. The roller cam spec's are the key, I would need the full spec's to make a good guess.

I was wrong about the compression-comes in around 11.1-The pistons are flat tops with 2 reliefs-the pistons are KB's and the rods are stock length 5.65-headers are 1-3/4-The cam is a chet herbert roller!

430-475 but with the right valve train you can extend your HP curve past your torque falloff a good bit. At 7500 you should be on the hi end of that guess and maybe more with everything right.

What you gonna put it in?

Maybe an olds wagon! Notsure though! won't run more than 410 gears and 3500 stall-the highest rpm will be 6300 because of the stock rods-they were magged shot penned and arp'd-I have run them for yrs turning 6300 rpm's-but that is my limit-gotta live a while because of the budget!
