Why the block filler? What are you going to use it for?

i didnt fill it all the way.. just to within 2 3/4" or so of the head surface.. jsut for a little extra strength.

Nit-picking here, but for what looks like a stout combo, why didnt you use a solid lifter cam and gain another 5-10%? Especially when you're getting into the 290+ duration stuff.

because it's a daily driver :/ I thought about it but i've heard so many different stories on solid cams.. you DO have to adjust them lots.. you DONT.. so ill just stick with hydraulic.. i figure im looking at 400-450 at crank so i mean.. that's gonna be plenty smile.gif

I don't think you'll have to change your motto soon... ;)

For the record, you don't need to adjust them often. If you do, something's wrong, But since you own your current cam, sure its going to be a real stout mill!

Wouldnt have thought a daily with a filled block.

That's a pretty stout daily driver...
How's it idle?

Ever thought of going to a dual plane manifold??

Advancing your cam would help with some low end torque...

Maybe some rhoads lifters?

i dont know how it idles yet havent fired it up smile.gif I had it running with the XE274 and it had a slight lump to it.. ran it with a stock converter and it was good for high 12's im pretty sure..

but then i had a timing nightmare and toasted a bearing.. so i decided to put a "little" more agressive cam in smile.gif

As for the block filler.. it doesnt run any hotter than my old 355 did with NO filler. stays at a constant 180-190 with a ****ty stock fan and no shroud.

oh yeah .. and as for the single plain.. no i thought about it at first.. but after trying the victor i didnt want to change it was KILLER down low torque.

I can post a movie of how the XE274 sounded if you want.
