What T-10 should I get for my 1969 Chevelle?I want to just swap out the old Muncie and put in a T-10 Richmond.I have 3.73 rear end and a M20 or M21.I have a 396 pushing 425hp.What is the best model to fit the M20-M21 and what gear option would work the best? Will this unit just bolt right up without changing the clutch and all?Can I use the Hurst shifter also? Thanks:)

Should bolt up as long as the Muncie had 26 splines..if not you'll have to get a 26 spline clutch disc. I would look on Hurst shifter web site to see if the BW and Muncie shifters are one in the same. A lot of the internals are interchangablle so you may be in luck. Folks on this site have trashed the BW Super T-10s so beware.

I bought a new '77-1/2 Z28 directly from Chevrolet Motor Division, took delivery and immediately installed an unused/new 1971 ZL-1 427.

This car was equipped new with a BW Super T-10W, meaning that it had the 2.64 first gear and the rear was a 3.73 eight and a half inch ten bolt with posi.

I put nearly 250,000 miles on this car, and the transmission NEVER gave me any problems, even behind the gennie 540 HP aluminum rat. I drove the car as a high performance grand touring car, and did not run it on slicks on a regular basis, although the car was no stranger to the quarter mile.

I also ran a blueprinted ST-10W behind a 427/496/540 series of engines in another Camaro, and like before, I never had any problems with the trans, ever.

The 2.64 and 3.73 combo was always a great performer. I later switched to a 2.73 / 496 on the second Camaro, and it hardly slowed it down in the quarter, but made a huge difference in cross-country driving.

26 spline input, and you need a BW mount for the Hurst. The slip yoke is the same as a T-400.

The Supe I installed in my '66 Elco (before I switched to a TKO 600) sat neatly on the T-350 crossmember, which I believe was the original Powerglide crossmember, but I can't swear to that though. No problems with the trans in this car either, and this puppy runs on slicks on a regular basis.

I also ran the 2.64-1 ST 10 behind our 455 Lemans. Never any problems but I wasn't running slicks either. The transmission was quiet, shifted nice and the lower first gear was ideal for every day street driving.
