I'm upgrading to an SS dash on my 1970 El Camino.Will the Instrument bulb sockets from my Malibu dash work with the SS dash circuit board.I ask because I saw bulb sockets from Ground UP that said they SS dash specific.Thanks for your help.

the ss dash lights gets its power though the cluster. i believe the sweep dash each light is powered.

You can use all the dash illumination light sockets (I think there are 4 or 5) they are the same. you cannot use any of the idiot light gauge sockets.

i robbed some out of my malibu dash when i did the conversion...but i bought most of mine at advance auto and autozone...they sell them all day long. Most of my old sockets where shot due to age and such

I found out that the two sizes of the sockets differ. The sweep dash has 1/2" holes and the ss dash has 5/8". Through some number chasing I found that the brand " standard" has a s503a socket. Matches perfectly. If you cannot find it in Standard, take the s503a number and trace it to Balkamp or Napa, they have it.
