Hey guys,

Just bought a 350 L83 corvette block with 882 heads from my friend.
Complete engine. The engine was built a few years back but only has
about 13,000 on it.

Just got it today so didn't have time to get into it yet but this is what I
know about it. Bored 30 over with kb dome pistons (comp over 12) with
stock crank and rods. Rebuilt 882s with upgrades. Old school circle track
cam, Torker 2 intake.

Looking to get rid of the 882s and lower the compresson to 9 1/2 to 10
Thinking 76cc or so heads? Any problems with eddy RPMs or eliminators
clearing these pistons? Or better idea's would be welcome. Also eddy
rpm intake and different cam.

Thanks Chuck

The 882's are 76cc's.
Were you planing on reusing the KB domed pistons ?

The 882 heads already have 76cc chambers, possibly a bit more or a bit less depending on milling and the casting.

I don't recall seeing a SB head with more than about an 80cc chamber, which won't get you where you want. If those are the infamous hyper KB pistons you don't want to even be thinking about detonation. In other words, you need new pistons. :(

Thanks guys, pistons are forged

I'm a body guy not engine and it shows.

I didn't know if I could lower it by a different combo
of intake, heads & cam. My friend did say they were
64cc but your right about the 76. I even have a set
in my 82 vette and they suck.

Anyway to lower it without changing the pistons?

Thanks Chuck

Sorry those are flat tops.

Think they are solid.

Those don't appear to have any dome.
You'll find out when you pull it apart.
If hollow ,you'll need new pistons.
If solid ,possible to mill the dome down.
